Shanghai Jinshan District Government announced today that the Jinshan-based Shanghai Double Happiness Yachts Co., Ltd. recently launched its new 68 foot sports yacht for British Clipper company.  As the very first of 10 yachts contracted with the British company, the yacht was named “Liverpool” at its launching ceremony held at the Royal Yacht Club in Southampton, England.  

Shanghai Double Happiness Yachts Co., Ltd., established in 2000, produces 45-foot, 80-foot and 86-foot yachts.

The new yacht is equipped with advanced vacuum abasorption technology, which assures strict conformity to all the design specifications and standards, giving much better performances than the British shipping industry would expect.  The virgin yacht, Liverpool, will join the other nine Double Happiness brands in the Clipper 05-06 Round the World Yacht Race to be held in next September. 

“Yacht production has a very promising future,” said Jinshan District Head Mr. Li Yuyi during his visit to the shipyard.  “We are planning to build a yacht dock on Jinshan’s golden beach, to further promote our yacht business and tourism industry.”  Mr. Li concluded.

Jinshan District Government has maintained its top priority of developing  beach resources.  The government has made great efforts in revamping seaside swimming pools and streamlining the beach environment in order to integrate yachting into its local economy.  Convention centers have been built and luxury yacht clubs established, aiming to create a brand new growth point of the service industry.  Shanghai Double Happiness Yacht Co., Ltd. has vowed to develop itself into the yacht-making center of Far East Asia.
