Shanghai Marie's Painting Materials Co., Ltd. Becomes China's Largest Paint Producer

Shanghai Jinshan District Government announced today that the Jinshan-based Shanghai Marie¡¯s Painting Materials Co., Ltd. has become China¡¯s largest paint producer, claiming a 60% share of the domestic market.  The company produces a series of brand products, totaling over 800 categories, which are recognized as leading brands by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.  

Incepted in 1919, Shanghai Marie¡¯s Painting Materials Co., Ltd. is a high and new-tech enterprise of Shanghai.  The company has taken scientific innovation as its blood and has established the country¡¯s most sophisticated technical center.  In order to protect the environment and secure clean production, the company has invested heavily in introducing the cutting-edge aluminum-tube packing line, atom absorption spectrometer, and color-testing and blending system equipment from America.  For the past few years, the company has passed ISO9002 Quality Assurance System Certification, EU¡¯s EN71-3 and American ASTM-4236 Safety and Health Certification, winning access to sell its Marie products in European and American markets. 

The new products of the company -- professional propylene paint, and the high-end pigments for traditional Chinese painting, watercolor painting and gouache painting -- have all been widely recognized.  In addition, the company will soon produce hydrophobic oil-painting pigment and quick-drying
oil-painting pigment that is suitable for drawing sketches. 

Jinshan District Government has taken ambitious steps to develop high-tech enterprises in the district.  So far, 28 municipal level high and new-tech companies have settled in Jinshan.  These include the development of open-type vehicle monitoring service system and rear-view mirror technology of Sail, which are listed as a key national project of new product development and a national Torch Program project respectively.
