Shanghai Jinshan District Government announced today that the construction of
the Reception Center for farmhouse travelers, located in Reservoir Village of
Caojing Town, Jinshan District, has formally commenced. The reception will have
a total area of 2000 mu (133 hectares), with 500 mu (33 hectares) available for
phase I planning.
The reception center is scheduled for completion within
one year, with a matured development expected over the following three. As a
travel project supporting the Shanghai 2010 World Expo., it is expected to be a
key component of the travel industry in Shanghai's Jinshan district, while also
being one of the 50 municipally planned projects. The project in eservoir
Village will focus its design on watery landscapes that are decorated with
various styled gardens in an effort to build a place characterized by watery
arts that are full of modern rural features.
In recent years, the
agricultural travel projects in Jinshan district have come to a climax. Besides
the farmhouse travel project in the Reservoir Village of Caojing Town, other
travel projects under the theme of "Farming", featuring "eating farmhouse foods,
living in farmhouses, working like farmers and enjoying the life of farmers,"
have also sped up their construction.The Farmers Picture Village in Fengjing
Town planned for its phase I project and will develop a travel route
characterized by Jinshan folk arts that connects with the old Fingjing Town.
Also, Shipu Urban Peach Garden for Farm House Travel in Luxiang Town has created
the Hongling Peach Garden, the Farmer's Restaurant, a multifunctional hall, a
fishing area and a barbecue area. They have also organized a performance team
composed of farmers whose rural-styled shows allow ravellers to fully appreciate
the pleasure of folk customs.
