On October 12, Shanghai Jinshan District -- Planning Showroom was formally completed.It came about at the time when the tenth five-year plan is to come to an end.Jinshan district sees itself as an integral part of the larger Shanghai municipality and focuses on the goals of building itself to be an international, economic,financial, trading and shipping center.Taking advantages of its seaside location and prominence in chemistry-based industries, it strives to take lead in modernization of local agriculture.In response to the general development of Shanghai and according to the reality of Jinshan Binhai Chemical city, the district has worked out a general plan for its development from 2005 to 2020.

Jinshan District -- Planning Showroom is composed of eight sections,namely, Education on Planning Knowledge, Reception Area,Display of Jinshan Satellite Imaging, Planning Presentation, Electronic Documentation Services,Miniature Display of the Three Zones with One Line (Jinshan Newtown Zone,Jinshan Industrial Zone, Jinshan Modern Agricultural Zone and Jinshan Coastal Line), Public Communication Services, Exhibition of Various Models and Presentation of Development Schemes.

The main structure of the Showroom was designed by American JWDA Company,using steel frames and modular formations.The outer wall covered by glassware material presents a simple, crystal and modern impression.The Showroom occupies a land area of 10 mu (0.66 hectares) with a total construction area of 2,100 square meters.
