Zhangyan Town of Jinshan district has been defined as one of the two national "Healthy City" experimental units in Shanghai.

Zhangyan Town is a national hygiene town and it has started the avitivity to build Healthy City aiming at "mental and physical health and happy life" from 2003 to 2005. Now, it will strengthen the work for new-type cooperative medical treatment work and the improvement of the national hygiene town and carry out the prevention and treatment of diabetes.
